Industry transforms resources into products with the aid of machines. Raw materials are products obtained from nature directly. For instance, wood. Elaborated products are products obtained from raw materials. For instance, furniture. The transformation process is named industrial process and it is done in the factories.

Most of the objects we use are made in factories. We use raw materials to make things. For example, wood is a raw material. We use wood to make paper. Paper is not a raw material, it is an industrial product.
