About 500 years ago, the cities
recovered their importance. The
nobility and the merchants settled down in them and constructed
beautiful and luxurious palaces.
In the coastal cities, the ports
were extended to favour the commerce. At this time great geographic
discoveries happened, like the discovery of America. New
cities were created there.
